I was completely new to the big scary audio world before this purchase, but I've been very pleased with this receiver thus far. I chose this particular receiver for a few reasons: the price point is very good, Yamaha is a recognized name, and it seemed to have most of the connections that I thought I would use.
I'm running a pair of 3-way Yamaha speakers and the receiver produces more than adequate power. I listen to a lot of NPR, Pandora, FM Radio, and movies and everything sounds great. If I were to find a gripe, and honestly, what review is complete without a complaint, I'm not too thrilled with the remote. I don't think it's very intuitive.
