I have had a Playstation 3 hooked up to an Insignia receiver and an older Samsung CRT (tube) HDTV. I wanted to upgrade my components, so I started with audio. I figured that since I wanted to upgrade, I should go for HD sound. As you may, or may not know the PS3 (among various other Blu-ray players) decodes HD audio (TrueHD, DTS HD-MA, etc.) so I did not need to spend more money on a receiver that decodes these. This receiver fit the bill almost perfectly. The only problems I really have with it is the lack of HDMI inputs (there are only 2) and the lack of a second set of speaker inputs (or B speakers). Even though neither one is a huge deal breaker for me. To offset these minor gripes the receiver has excellent sound, only 0.05 THD (distortion), tremendous power (110 watts per channel), and can take audio through HDMI. The reciver looks pretty slick as well (no excessive lights). For the price range this receiver can do HD sound for most blu-ray players and sounds better than most receivers twice the price. I am very happy with this purchase and would easily recommend this receiver to anyone.Get more detail about Pioneer VSX-519V-K 5-Channel A/V Receiver (Black).
