Yamaha RX-V361BL 500 Watt 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver Right now

I was completely new to the big scary audio world before this purchase, but I've been very pleased with this receiver thus far. I chose this particular receiver for a few reasons: the price point is very good, Yamaha is a recognized name, and it seemed to have most of the connections that I thought I would use.

I'm running a pair of 3-way Yamaha speakers and the receiver produces more than adequate power. I listen to a lot of NPR, Pandora, FM Radio, and movies and everything sounds great. If I were to find a gripe, and honestly, what review is complete without a complaint, I'm not too thrilled with the remote. I don't think it's very intuitive. Otherwise, I would recommend this receiver. Get more detail about Yamaha RX-V361BL 500 Watt 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver.

Sony STR-DG800 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver with HDMI Passthrough Decide Now

Works great, have a simple surround hooked up with a 40" LCD HDTV and DVD player. I am not a stereophile but appreciate a good movie with surround and blasting a good tune. Has plenty of power for me (10 x 12 room - open to the next room). Even hooked it to a pair of outdoor speakers. Dayton APA150 150W Power Amplifier Order Now

I got this specifically because I wanted a 150 watt center channel amplifier. I got the Cerwin Vega VE series center channel which can be fed up to 150 watts and I wanted to make sure I could take full advantage of it. This is a great pairing, though I can never turn the volume past 50% or I will go deaf. Everything sounds crystal clear though, and the bass performance is fantastic. I would almost buy one of these for every speaker!Get more detail about Dayton APA150 150W Power Amplifier.

Pioneer VSX-918V 5.1-Channel AV Receiver This instant

This is an extremely nice receiver for the money. You can expect Pioneer quality in this receiver. I've owned 2 other Pioneer receivers and was sold on their quality and power. I also have a Pioneer A/V unit and speakers in my automobile. So as you can see I'm a Pioneer fan. There are better receivers out there but if you want a basic 5.1 receiver that has a few bells and whistles then this receiver is the one for you.

I wanted a basic receiver with HDMI functionality that would work with my PS3. I looked at the newer VSX919 and was set on that one but it was a little more expensive since it had a few more bells and whistles; more than I would actually use. The VSX918 still runs the newer codecs via PCM or "pass through" from my PS3. The price was also a big "plus". This receiver is extremely powerful and has a lot of options that can be configured if desired. It can be used as is out of the box with your speakers but the configuration will allow you to fine tune the sound.

The reciever is nicely built and is pretty heavy compared to the other Pioneer receivers I've owned. The sound quality paired with the Boston Acoustic MCS100 surround system is more than I could have dreamed. I'm throughly pleased with the purchase from 6ave. I do recommend this unit for anyone looking for a basic receiver or for one who is looking for a receiver that has HDMI capability along with many user defineable settings. This receiver definitely fit my needs as well as my budget. I can't recommend this receiver enough. If you're unsure about it please research it. I did and was pleased to find that I could save myself some money and still have a nice powerful receiver that met and exceeded my demands and expectations. Thumbs up Pioneer on the VSX918.Get more detail about Pioneer VSX-918V 5.1-Channel AV Receiver.

Yamaha RX-Z7BL 7.1-Channel High-End Network Home Theater Receiver (Black) Top Quality

After expending $2500, I contacted my dealer when I found 2 mayor issues with this Unit (Due to Software Bugs), 2 weeks later Yamaha released firmware 1.05 fixing the Power on/off issue, The next month, they released v1.08 which addressed the HDMI Blue vertical noise in its processing circuitry. The problems don't end here, firmware v 1.05 has created another bug with Rhapsody operation, that is why I contacted Yamaha support 1 month ago. Not help having replaced my unit. They realized (Yamaha) about this other problem. I was surprised how Yamaha is not very interested in Keeping the Z series trouble free. This is my opinion, What you should expect when you expend $2500 Dollars in a "Top of the Line Receiver"?. Sonically and other Features this Unit Rock, but not enough for a Z series receiverGet more detail about Yamaha RX-Z7BL 7.1-Channel High-End Network Home Theater Receiver (Black).

Where To Buy Panasonic SA-HE100K Home Theater Receiver

I bought this thing about 4 years ago. My main issue with it is that the sub output is only one RCA jack, most subs have 2 inputs. An adapter didn't seem to work very well. I now run a main line to the sub which then splits the signal to the surround speakers. On the plus side, it has plenty of power, I've never had it louder than -10. It has also never overheated, despite being in a very tight enclosure. Get more detail about Panasonic SA-HE100K Home Theater Receiver.

Cheap Marantz SR5004 Audio/video Receiver (Black)

Marantz must have some design or part failure - I have been through four 6004s and one 5004, but one 6004 survives till this day.

my 5004 only lasted a few days. I ran audyssey and ensured that all 8ohm speakers were connected properly and the unit had plenty of room to breathe. The receiver was surge protected with a monster surge protector. On the third day while watching tv, the receiver had the chilling pop and went into protect mode.

Thankfully my dealer was very helpful and gave me a full refund the following day.

I caution you to buy the Marantz SR5004 or Marantz SR6004 comes clean on what's causing the successive deaths of their brand new receivers. Their customer service department denies any failure and insists it was my setup.Get more detail about Marantz SR5004 Audio/video Receiver (Black).

Discount 8 Port 250 Mhz VGA Video Splitter Distribution Amplifier

The VGA Splitter works great, however, if you want to purchase this product, you may want to go and search for a "15 pin VGA Female Coupler" - The majority of VGA cables today are male to male while hardware usually provides a female port to plug into, not this VGA splitter. It requires a female coupler for the video in port. Fortunately you can find a coupler right here on Amazon and can order it at the same time as the splitter (Don't make the mistake we did and order the splitter on a time crunch without the right accessories). The box stores do not carry the splitter, so unless you have the right cables or accessories, this product will not work for you. We've had no problems with the splitter itself and would recommend it to others on a budget. For people who have more money to spend, you may want to consider a more up to date splitter.Get more detail about 8 Port 250 Mhz VGA Video Splitter Distribution Amplifier.

Cheap Pyle Home PCA1 Mini 2 X 15-Watt Stereo Power Amplifier

This little amplifier far exceeds my expectations. I bought it to power an old pair of Realistic Minimus 77 8-ohm bookshelf speakers. I hooked up a CD player and turned it on. What a revelation! The sound is clear, rich, and sharp. Up as far as 1/2 volume, all I need in my bedroom, I don't hear any distortion. The bass and treble response seem to be even across different volume settings, despite the lack of tone controls. I love that the interface is so honest and simple--just an on-off switch and a volume control, an actual knob instead of buttons. And the volume control isn't disguised for the sake of aesthetics as on most modern equipment. The sound quality noticeably exceeds both my Bose Wave Radio and my Tivoli Model 2. The key is probably connecting a decent pair of speakers to it. Highly recommended!Buy Pyle PCA1 Lowest Price, Order Now! [Click Here!]

Buying Onkyo TX-NR906 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver (Black)

First off, I'm not a tech freak but I do consider myself above average.. I have had Blu-ray Players since the beginning of them.. I have a Sony BDP-S1 & a Sharp HP-20u.. This 906 was easier to set up than I thought it was going to be.. Hooked up my Sony Blu-Ray but couldn't get HD sound.. Called Onkyo they were great he tried to change the settings on the Sony but it still wouldn't get HD sound.. Long story short he said some earlier Models of Blu-Ray players wouldn't put out HD sound without going back the the MFG. like Sony to get them to change the settings.. I didn't want to go through that hassle.. So I did some research on Amazon and found the new Onkyo DV-BD507 Blu-Ray player.. According to Onkyo the two were a seamless connection.. That was a unstatement I hooked up the BD507 Blu-Ray player and WOW all I had to do was to make a few setting changes and I was totally amazed at the HD sound and picture which was beyond EXCELLENT and the up scaling to 1080P excellent.. I hooked this up to my Sharp LC-46D-64U

Thanks Amazon for the great price on the Onkyo receiver & Onkyo Blu-Ray player and Onkyo tech Support

Purchase TEAC AGH300mkIII AM/FM Stereo Receiver

I've been looking for a compact amplifier and was pleasantly surprised to find this receiver. Great apartment therapy -- this unit is really designed for small spaces. It even has a sleep timer and a function to dim the LED alpha display, which would be great in a bedroom. However, the dimmer function doesn't affect the piercing blue LED indicating the selected source, which limits the usefulness of dimming.

My receiver is paired with tiny Mordaunt-Short Carnival 1 bookshelf speakers and a Carnival 7 subwoofer. The Teac drives these speakers cleanly to an uncomfortable volume. It has plenty of line-level inputs for connection to an iPod dock, satellite radio receiver, etc. Great choice if you want a simple, solid and compact two-channel receiver at a reasonable price.

My wife and I also looked at the TEAC Reference Series 200 CRH-227I CD Receiver with Dock for iPod (has an integrated CD player and iPod dock, but has a lower-powered amp section: 20w per channel.) My wife found that the integrated iPod navigation on that unit to be awkward, and we never play CD's directly anymore. So we opted to connect an iPod to the AGH300-MarkIII receiver thru an Apple dock.Get more detail about TEAC AGH300mkIII AM/FM Stereo Receiver.

Order NuForce Icon (Integrated Desktop Audio Amplifier, Black Color)

Decided to upgrade my computer sound to some Paradigm mini monitors & a NuForce Icon. Received the Paradigms first and hooked them up to my father's old Sony receiver. I was disappointed in my Paradigms. Then my NuForce arrived the next day. Wow - clean full sound from this little thing! Now the Paradigms sound like they should. This little box is perfect - small, simple, yet feels and sounds expensive. I'm using the DAC (USB) connector to Vista. It sounds good, but there's a few weird behaviors on the computer using this connector - may switch back to the standard audio connector. There is a definite pop when it's powered on, but it's bearable. Buy one of these, but not until you can also afford some high-end speakers to go with it.Get more detail about NuForce Icon (Integrated Desktop Audio Amplifier, Black Color).

Shop For Sherwood RX-5502 400-Watt Multisource Dual Zone Audio Video Receiver

I recently moved into a new house that had built in speakers - 4 speaker pairs (8 total) with wires all coming out to one central location and wall mounted volume dials for each speaker pair. I set out to get a receiver to match the system, and was surprised at how hard it was. My intention was mostly to use this with my iPod - so we're not talking concert quality acoustics here, just a decent sounding system to play sound through the house.

I initially set out to get either a) an 8 channel amp or b) a 2 channel amp which I could split. Problem was, most of the 8 channel amps were extremely expensive for what I was looking for (like $800+), and many lacked controls to control each "zone" independently. On the other hand, most of the 2 channel amps I looked at lacked the power to run 4 pairs simultaneously. It turns out, most of the multi channel receivers out there are set up for home theater systems (i.e. 7.1), not multi-room audio.

As I neared the end of my search and was close to pulling the trigger on a $500+ 8-channel amp, I happened to stumble upon the Sherwood. I thought the price was too good to be true (this must be a piece of junk, right?), but figured I may as well give it a shot and if I don't like it I could return it. I'm pretty happy with this receiver - the sound quality is pretty good. As I said, I have it hooked up to an iPod and my speakers aren't anything special, so I can't say for certain just how good the sound quality potential is, but in my opinion it's good enough for some iPod-sourced ambient music throughout the house. The controls are extremely intuitive, and it gives me the option to turn on any of my 4 zones independently (or all at once, or any combination thereof) from the receiver - an option many of the higher priced 8-channel amps I looked at lacked. It also has several inputs, a big plus.

Overall - if you're looking for a reasonably priced receiver to run a multi-room audio system, this is a pretty good bet. Get more detail about Sherwood RX-5502 400-Watt Multisource Dual Zone Audio Video Receiver.

Jensen WBT210 Bluetooth Portable Universal Stereo Receiver with Intergrated Microphone Review

I bought this so I could listen to my Nokia 6555 on my car stereo AUX input via bluetooth. It paired ok, but this little jewel would cause my phone to crash and reboot whenever I started playing music. At most I could play 3-4 minutes before my phone would reboot. So, it got stuck in the glove compartment.

Fast forward 12 months. Just purchased a TomTom GO730 which supports BT audio out for both the directions and music/audiobooks. Sweet! I already have a BT receiver I can use!

It was not to be. It paired fine with the TomTom, but I could not get through an entire song before it would disconnect from the TomTom. I would have to power it off and back on again to get it to reconnect, only to have it disconnect again.

Definintely was not reado for prime time. Would NOT buy at the listed retail. I paid $15 for mine and in my opinion that was still too much.Get more detail about Jensen WBT210 Bluetooth Portable Universal Stereo Receiver with Intergrated Microphone.

Gemini PA-7000 Preamplifier Top Quality

I've been very happy with my setup so far:

Sansui g-7500, jvc ql-f4, bose 4.2 II bookshelf's, etc. etc. the point is, I wanted to get a bit more sound from my turn table so, the pa-7000 just happened to be the first item in the list that seemed to meet my minimum requirements.

I finally arrived and I put it into my system, not only am I able to route my cd changer, my tape deck, my digital media unit and my phono unit, but, I found the base/mid/treb controls unexpectedly very nice. I immediately began tuning to taste (Careful not to colour the music of course.)

I am more than pleased with this product. I received far more than I had expected and do believe if I would have made another purchase I would not be so pleased.

the sound quality is uneffected by the addition of the pa-7000, sans of course for the boost in volume and slightly more bass due to the equalizer. I would also point out not a single hiss, hum or whistle.

This unit was the missing link to completing my audio experience. Get more detail about Gemini PA-7000 Preamplifier.

Onkyo A-9555 Integrated Digital Stereo Amplifier (Black) This instant

After years of getting mixed result from multi-function receivers, I have decided to try a dedicated stereo amp to see if the music really sounds better. And it turns out that it does. There are many brands out there but the real choice (testing the equipment) is quite limited. Since my favorite mid price brand (Harman Kardon) does not offer much in the integrated amp area, the focus shifted to another popular and easily available name -Onkyo. The A-9555 got pretty good marks, but there was very little information on its A-5VL successor available in September 2009. Thanks to generous return policy I got both models and tested them with two sets of headphones - Denon AHD 2000 and Sennheiser HD 800.
Staring with the newer A-5VL model, the moment I turned up the volume knob there was the "WOW" factor. I have never before experienced that excellent sound quality from a mid priced amp and instantly felt this is something to hold on to. However, after a while I have noticed that that the sound does have that sharp digital quality different from the "tube-like" softness and warmth I was looking for and found in its predecessor.
Thus, the A-9555 is a real winner here - sonically more realistic, with a wider sound stage and twice the (Watt) power coming at a lower price tag. I can honestly recommend this amp to anyone looking to boost the CD sound without spending thousands of your hard earned dollars.
Both receivers have very good headphone output, but they really lack quality phono input. A Vinyl record played with Technics 1200MK2 sounded no different than a CD.

Yamaha HTR-6140BL 525 Watt 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver Immediately

I connected this device with a set of JBL speakers and subwoofer, a Sony DVD and Optoma Projector. Works perfectly through the HDMI connections. I find it an excellent choice for the price, you dont really need a 7.1 system specially if the room is not that big, I can't get it past half the volume because my windows star to shake.
The reason why I didn't gave the fifth star it's because the grill came with a dent, being a refurbished device you cannot argue about it, but it was easy to fix by the manufacturer.Get more detail about Yamaha HTR-6140BL 525 Watt 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver.

Can anyone comment if the new Denon receiver has resolved its signal dropping out problems with other TVs, especially Sony XBR6? I know many potential Denon buyers woild have this concern too.

Denon AVR890 7.1-Channel Multi-Zone Home Theater Receiver with 1080p HDMI Connectivity Get it now!

I purchased a Bose V-20 and after several weeks I returned it because it just didn't seem to have power I wanted. I exchanged the Bose for the Denon 890 and got back over a $1,000. The Denon has 5 HDMI inputs which I found very useful. I love the sound I get. It just took a long time to get everything to work the way I wanted. The user manual is very difficult to understand and the remote is almost as bad. I still haven't figured out how to use everything on the remote. I have no idea what all the buttons on the back of the remote is for. I had to make several adjustments to the front center speaker to get proper volume. I'm also confused about how to hook up my amp. I think I got it working properly, but still haven't figured out how to get more bass out of it. Like I said the user manual is not much help. The HDMI is very easy to use and I can hook up my Blu ray DVD and Direct TV DVR with ease. I like this system much better than the Bose V-20 and for the price it is much better. There are several downsides like trying to figure out how to get all my FM stations to work. After some experimenting I finally got it to work. I also can't get great volume from my IPOD dock - I really have to crank up the volume on the Denon to get the sound I want. I think I might have to use the Denon Dock which costs over $100. Overall I'm satisfied with the system. It does a great job once you figure out how to use it. This isn't a system that is easy to set up - at least for me. I am happy with the power and sound. Yamaha RX-797 Audio/Video Receiver Buy Now

I would highly recommend this stereo receiver, particularly if you want a solid two channel system that is able to drive high current into low impedance speakers without breaking a sweat [there is so much drive "head room" -- high dynamic power -- that you never get to distortion-causing "limiting" in the amplifier or from its power supply]. As 5 channel [an up] receivers proliferate, the availability of good two channel systems has declined considerably.

While multi-channel systems are certainly great for home theaters, providing a dynamic "imersive" experiance --- for enjoyable music listening, multi-channel's incremental sound experience improvement is only marginally better, if at all. Further, if the user is just interested music listening, two channel systems are simpler to set up in a room, since there are fewer speakers to be placed around the room [i.e. left, right and maybe a low-base unit --- no center or left/right rear speakers to be concerned with]. I still have my Yamaha RX-595 [which is very similar], purchased in 1998, for another room and it continues to perform excellently.

The RX-797 adds Sirius/XM capability and two listening zone capability [with an included second remote] and a slight power upgrade [100+100 watts instead of 80+80 watts for 8 ohm speakers, so this is a technical rather than a practical "improvement" over the older unit]. Both units share excellent damping factors [makes sure the speakers move the way the music wants, not the way the heavy speaker cones want], low level phono input, loudness control to correct for the ear's lower high and low frequency sensitivity as the volume is turned down, video switching, AM/FM receiver and the ability to send an output from one source to a recording device, while listening to another.

I am not a "Luddite" from 1811-16, but sometimes more is NOT better -- you have to fit the tool to the application. The choice is yours, good luck with yours. Get more detail about Yamaha RX-797 Audio/Video Receiver.

Yamaha RX-V665BL 630 Watt 7-Channel Home Theater Receiver Decide Now

I chose the Yamaha V665 after careful comparison with other units, and was very impressed with ease of setup and features. The sound quality is excellent, and while I had initial concerns with power output, at 90 watts it demonstrates more useable power than my previous NAD unit at 100 watts. I particularly like the four "Scene" buttons which allow linked input sources and sound fields and switch the unit on with one action. Contrary to other reviews on Amazon you can easily assign whatever input you wish together with a preferred sound field and assign it to any of these buttons. On the downside, you cannot assign different tone adjustments to these four "Scenes" which means I have to manually attenuate the bass to listen to spoken radio broadcasts which tend to create disturbing bass reverberations at times.

However the one big disappointment, which because of its nature I only discovered too late to return the unit (and I would not have purchased this unit had I known beforehand) is evident when a TV input from some (possibly all?) cable boxes is connected to the unit and passed through using the receiver as a switching unit (one of the key features of any modern receiver after all). In this mode the signal is subject to frequent dropouts of sound and video. Some days these dropouts are hardly evident and only for a fraction of a second, other days they are frequent and last long enough to leave the screen blank for a second or two or to delete entire words on the audio track. This happens with every possible connection I have tried, whether HDMI or component video (I have also tried monster cables to no avail). I have since seen other reviews reporting this same problem on other Yamaha units. My cable box is Time Warner but there are similar reports with Verizon Fios, so the problem seems endemic. Updating the current Yamaha firmware seems to have no effect.

There are always so many variables that it is difficult to track down the source of the problem, and I would hate to criticize Yamaha unfairly, but as the problem apparently occurs throughout the Yamaha product range, it would seem wise to hesitate on purchasing Yamaha until this problem is resolved.Get more detail about Yamaha RX-V665BL 630 Watt 7-Channel Home Theater Receiver.

Yamaha RX-V765BL 665 Watt 7-Channel Home Theater Receiver Right now

I had been looking at several of the Yamaha models through the spring of 2009, as well as its competitor's (Sony, Onkyo, Denon), for an upgrade of my ancient Sony receiver (one of the first Pro-logic receivers). I just installed a set of Definitive Technology Mythos speakers ordered through Amazon.com, including a power-hungry Mythos Three center channel. I wanted this receiver to be the core of my Home Theater as it's primarily use for improving my Sony Blu-ray and TiVo Series3 HD DVR experience.

Sports, such a baseball is vivid with the upscale feature from 1080i to 1080p (although it has not yet improved the performance of my Seattle Mariners). 1080i broadcast shows such as Chuck, both sound and look great.

The optional YDS-11SL iPod dock works well with both a 4th generation Nano and an 80G iPod Classic, including the videos.

What is worth the wait is the clean layout on the back, the heft of the discrete amp, and the Blu-ray friendly support with both the scene button and the Decoders for HD audio formats: Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. Yes they do make a difference in your home theater experience.

The audio calibration microphone works as advertised. Silent Cinema (headphone mode) is also a nice feature.

What could be improved - You need to keep the manual next to you for the first week to figure out some of the controls such as accessing all of the iPod controls with the dock. I was also sorry to see HD Radio(tm) missing from this "top of the mid-range" Yamaha's. The older RX-V863 has it, but this one doesn't. Also the four scene buttons are not programmable. I wanted to program the TV scene button for my TiVo (HDMI #2), no luck.

In the end, if you are looking for a quality receiver that performs well on both movies and music, and can drive your amp hungry speakers to their potential, look no farther that this RX-V765. It really was worth the wait.Get more detail about Yamaha RX-V765BL 665 Watt 7-Channel Home Theater Receiver.

I bought this amplifier so I could record video from my Xbox onto my laptop, while actually playing the game on my standard TV. And it does exactly what you would expect it to. The signal quality really is 1:1, as far as I can tell anyway. If there is any degradation in the video, it's minor. The audio is excellent too. I've only tested it using two of the outputs simultaneously, but I've seen nothing to make me believe the quality of using all four would be any different. If your looking for a good composite video amplifier, then look no further.Get more detail about CE LABS AV 400 Prograde Composite A/V Distribution Amplifiers (1 input ¿ 4 output).

Save Onkyo M-282 2-Channel Power Amplifier

I had this amp set up to power a distributed stereo signal to feed the rest of the house for background music. While it worked for the warranty period reasonably well, it did shut itself off for reasons that never were readily apparent.

Then one day, it tripped off never to come on again. Onkyo service is an exercise in all that is bad with customer service for electronic equipment. If it's out of warranty by even a day, the nature of the discussion with the service tech becomes akin to wading through sludge.

Bottom line, it would cost more to fix it than the cost of a new one. It is a door stop and I bought two Audiosource amps and am quite happy, thank you. I am done with Onkyo. Get more detail about Onkyo M-282 2-Channel Power Amplifier.

Cheapest Yamaha RX-V365BL 500 Watt 5-Channel Home Theater Receiver

I like the Night setting that compresses the sound for low listening levels at night so the sound doesn't get too loud. Also described as it narrows the dynamic range of the soundtracks and makes dialog easier to hear at lower volumes.
I was disappointed the HDMI cables do not support sound! I have to make a last minute trip to the local store to by a Optical Digital audio cable for the DVR and a Coaxial Digital audio cable for the Blu Ray player. I could have used the old RCA jack cables but the whole idea is digital and HD with my system. Other Receivers do use the HDMI cable for sound.
All in all it is a great receiver for the price.
volume uses negative numbers in other words the volume numbers go in reverse, the number goes low as the volume goes upGet more detail about Yamaha RX-V365BL 500 Watt 5-Channel Home Theater Receiver.

Buying TIC CORPORATION AMP10 Exterior Receiver Amplifier (Black Finish)

Works pretty well overall. Lots of connectivity options. I have mine outside by the pool, connected to 4 speakers. Sound is good, but don't turn up the volume too high or the sound becomes garbled. So this is not one of those super-loud units. FM reception is really bad using the antenna they provided. I had to put a long (40 ft) wire on mine to get good reception. Not much else out there for outdoor units like this, except some at a much, much higher price point.Get more detail about TIC CORPORATION AMP10 Exterior Receiver Amplifier (Black Finish).

Buy Sherwood 500-WATT 5.1 Dolby® Digital HDMI Receiver with Bluetooth®

I was a little leery of purchasing a Sherwood product, since I'd never owned one, and You don't see their product on a lot of store shelves.
This unit is top notch. If I had actually seen this in a store, I wouldn't have flinched at a price double what I paid for it.
It's got features I'll probably never use, but to sum it up, You can probably route every bit of your Entertainment center through it, and at least to some degree control all of it (on off, volume, station selection, Play, ff, rewind, etc. . .) It has automatic and manual Surround speaker balancing, and the mic for balancing is included.
I would buy it again, and if You're warranty minded, Beach offers their own warranty, which you can purchase within 30 days of original purchase for under $25. Get more detail about Sherwood 500-WATT 5.1 Dolby® Digital HDMI Receiver with Bluetooth®.
